Timothy Dolensky & Atlanta Figure Skating Club Give Back to Their Community

January 18, 2015

Local ice skater Timothy Dolensky will be representing the Atlanta Figure Skating Club at the U.S. National Figure Skating Championships next week in Greensboro, North Carolina. Tim has always been thankful for the support of his fans and fellow club members and this year he wants to do something to give back to his community to show his appreciation. Tim, being familiar with our Little Bricks of Hope program, has asked those close to him to wrap up a LEGO set in bubble wrap and use those in place of throwing the traditional "tossies" like stuffed animals and flowers on to the ice at the end of his perofrmances so he can donate them to Hope Laugh Play. This past Friday, the skating club had a send off party for Tim and during the celebration he spent some time demonstrating how to wrap the LEGO sets so they won't damage the ice. Hope Laugh Play would like to wish Timothy and all the competitors at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships the best of luck! Tune in to NBC January 25 and 26 to see the this exciting event.

Second Chance Family Camp

Sept 13, 2014

Little Bricks of Hope had the privilege of making a second trip to Camp Twin Lakes to take part in the Second Chance Family Camp to bring the summer to a close. Run by Children’s Health Care of Atlanta, the annual event invites transplant recipients, candidates and their immediate families to enjoy camp activities with others who share similar experiences. LBH was a huge hit with the campers and it was great seeing some familiar faces from some of our hospital visits. Little Tales for Tots also made it’s summer camp debut where our founder and president Wil Ennis read a pirate book to the youngest campers followed by making eye patches in keeping with the pirate theme the camp took on this year.

MDE School Kick Off!

July 17th, 2014

The MDE School for Special Needs in Marietta hosted “Gifted Hands” for some of their students and LBH was asked to make their debut appearance at the school. This five-day summer camp focused on following directions, sequencing, hand-eye coordination and more. LEGO building was the perfect fit for this theme and these kids certainly did win our hearts! Little Bricks of Hope will begin working with the school on a monthly basis starting in August as an MDE School Club activity. We could not be more excited and honored to be a part of this amazing school. For more information on the school, go to MDEschool.com.
